Hotel Life: FTL
We recently returned from an incredible weekend stay at The Dalmar. Located within walking distance of Fort Lauderdale’s nighttime hot spot, Las Olas, this hip boutique hotel is one of the newer properties from Marriot’s Tribute Portfolio collection. Described as “A Magnet for the Colorful and Quirky. Tribute Portfolio is designed for travelers seeking fresh travel experiences that reflect their own unique individual point of view.”
The Dalmar certainly lived up to the mantra of Tribute Portfolio and featured modern design, gorgeous community spaces and tons of character. They are clearly going for the millennial, insta-obsessed crowd with this specific property… every corner is more picture perfect than the next. To our delight, each staff member we encountered at check in, lobby bar, pool, etc. were all super friendly. My issue with many of these new hip hotels is the service (which I find to be pretentious)... not the case here. Everyone was down to earth.
The absolute standout of the property was the 6th floor pool and bar. It's common for hotel pools of this style in FTL/Miami area to have a club vibe. This pool was gorgeous and actually very relaxing with a chill vibe and sweeping views of downtown Fort Lauderdale. Seating was plentiful and we loved the adorable Gelato card (another instaworthy touch).
Also found on the 6th floor is the lobby bar and a Moet & Chandon Champagne vending machine.
We found the room to be quite spacious for a boutique hotel. The floor to ceiling windows gave way to views of the ocean front, downtown Fort Lauderdale, and beyond. Adorned with modern touches, we absolutely loved the lay out itself of the room.
We had a very comfortable stay and welcome this new addition to FTL. Can’t wait to get back in that pool!
